The most stable and bio-available carnitine salt. Contains 58.5% of active principle. Because fumarate is naturally present in the Krebs cycle it optimises the action of L-carnitine. Recent studies have shown that fumaric acid increases energy through the anaplerotic effect and is beneficial for cardiac conditions. Fumarate also works best with CoQ10 due to its non-hygroscopic nature.

This amino acid also is quite active in the energy-producing mitochondria in each cell, where it appears to offer significant protection against major cell killers, according to experiments performed at the Institute of Medical Biochemistry at the University of Oslo in Norway (Bremer 1983). Furthermore, Eric Braverman (1987), author of The Healing Nutrients Within, explains that, in cells, L-carnitine fumarate carries fat molecules across a membrane and into mitochondria. "The more carnitine available," says Braverman, "the faster fat is transported and the more fat is oxidized for energy. This energy is then stored not as fat but as ATP [adenosine triphosphate], the trigger for many of the body's activities."
